Galvorn®—Driving the Multifunctionality Revolution in Advanced Textiles

The next generation of functional fabrics demands materials that deliver multiple high-performance capabilities at once—without compromise. Galvorn, DexMat’s breakthrough carbon nanotube (CNT) fiber, is engineered to meet that challenge, overcoming the trade-offs that constrain today’s advanced textiles.

In this on-demand session, join Dmitri Tsentalovich, PhD, DexMat CTO & Founder, and Sofia Izaguirre, DexMat Application Specialist, for an exclusive deep dive into Galvorn’s unprecedented combination of properties: exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, outstanding electrical conductivity, high thermal stability, and true textile flexibility.

The speakers provide a strategic overview of the multifunctional applications being advanced with customers and development partners, with particular focus on high-performance systems relevant to the defense sector. This is not just a list of current uses; it’s an analysis of market relevance and future direction, positioning Galvorn as a platform technology that solves difficult material trade-offs for multi-year programs like soldier lethality and future system integration.

The discussion also features Tyler Dolmetsch, PhD, Research Assistant Professor at Florida International University and R&D Consultant at Thaero, who shares his work on plasma-activated protective fabrics capable of actively neutralizing chemical and biological agents.

Key Application Highlights Covered:

  • Personalized protective systems that mitigate chemical and biological threats.
  • Biometric-sensing textiles that double as lightweight, robust conductive pathways for power and data in smart uniforms.
  • Superior textile-based heat exchangers for cooling and lightweight power solutions.
  • Integrated Protection Systems that combine mechanical defense with electromagnetic shielding, enabling single-layer solutions for
  • EMI shielding fabric in tactical gear.

This recording is essential for researchers, engineers, and high-level decision-makers looking to integrate a truly multi-functional material into next-generation fabric, protection, and system-level designs.
