Galvorn® 1000 Braided Yarn
Carbon Nanotube Yarn
**Formerly named “Galvorn® HS – High-Strength Braided Yarn”
Ultra-Strong. Ultra-Light. Electrically Conductive. Optimal for Larger Constructions.
Galvorn® 1000 Braided Yarn is a next-generation carbon nanotube (CNT) yarn engineered for exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, conductivity, and durability. Galvorn braided yarn represents the high-diameter end of DexMat’s high-performance CNT yarns. Our twisted yarns are typically limited to smaller diameters, the braided architecture allows us to achieve much larger cross-sections, reaching 1000 µm and beyond. This structure is created by interlacing Galvorn® 1000 filaments, often around a central core, resulting in a yarn that is significantly more damage-resistant and stable under mechanical stress.
In terms of performance, the 1000 micron CNT braided yarn is optimized for applications requiring high break force and rugged durability, such as aerospace signal cables, specialized electrodes, and high-performance e-textiles. Mechanically, it can achieve a break force of approximately 90 kg, with a tensile strength of 1.2 GPa. Its electrical properties are equally robust, featuring a low resistance of roughly 0.35 Ω/m and a conductivity of 3.9 MS/m.
Galvorn® 1000 Braided Yarn also maintains a textile-like feel and superior knot strength making it easier to integrate into complex assemblies compared to stiffer, monolithic metal conductors.
Key Benefits
- Exceptional Break Force: Can achieve a break force of approximately 90 kg.
- Superior Electrical Conductivity: A low resistance of roughly 0.35 Ω/m.
- Extreme Fatigue Resistance: Withstands millions of flex cycles at micro-scales without work-hardening or brittle failure.
- Thermal & Chemical Stability: Does not burn or melt; maintains structural precision in extreme environments.
- Made in the USA: Produced at our headquarters in Houston, Texas.

Highest Performing CNT Products
"We have tested different CNT yarns and in terms of mechanical properties allowing it to withstand mechanical automation, yours are the best. The multifunctionality is key. We can monitor strength, temperature, curing and strength, and can apply heat. With one material you can do many things, this is very attractive to many companies."
A Research Institution for Aerospace
“It’s amazing. No other material can do what this material does!”
A Major Global Aerospace Company
"Many of our customers were attracted not only to the thermoelectric technology, but also to Galvorn’s unique combination of high-performance properties. We are optimistic about the road ahead with Galvorn, in this first thermoelectric application, but also beyond it. We see the broad market need for a high-performance material like Galvorn that is also good for the environment.”
Hiroki Iijima, Sales Manager at Tokai Rika
"We were able to create a miniaturized, minimally-invasive neuromodulation technology enabled by the high efficiency of charge transfer and high conductivity of Galvorn. Our design makes these types therapies far more accessible for patients living with conditions like epilepsy, depression, and chronic pain."
